Rye & Rasher is fictional: a little Hanley-facing shop imagined around the smell of toast, a hot plate behind the counter and the question of whether your bacon belongs in a bap, a butty or an oatcake.
The tone is deliberately local without pretending to represent a real venue. “Staffordshire oatcake” is the menu cue; the shop name, address, prices, recipes and service promises are all illustrative placeholders for a future owner to sign off.
